Abdelmajid Shamlawi

Abed Shamlawi gathers extensive experience in leading ICT sector development and assisting public and private sector entities develop and implement their ICT strategies and envision efficient use of technology in order to increase business efficiency, he also managed large scale public and private ICT related projects and NGOs. Recently Mr. Shamlawi has been leading Jordan’s ICT and BPO Sector Association – int@j towards being an active champion and a thought leader for the ICT and BPO Sector in Jordan through advocacy, promotion and marketing, research, and capacity building programs to the ICT and BPO sector members and stakeholders.

 

 

 

Abdullah Al Barwani

More than 10 years experience in information security management. Graduated in computer science and focused his career in information security and obtained important certifications like CISM and SABSA. Worked in the Ministry of Defense for 6 years before joining the Information Technology Authority (ITA) where he established the first information security management program in the ministry and initiated an awareness and training program for the staff covering multiple regions. Abdullah is currently the DG of the Information Security Division at the Information Technology Authority supervising various national programs to enhance information security within the government of Oman.

 

 

 

Aedah Hussein

Personal Secretary to the Minister of Telecommunication – Iraq Aedah has been working at the Iraqi Ministry of Post and Communications since early 2007. During her years of service at the Ministry of Communication, Aedah was directly involved in all the administrative minister-level tasks such as scheduling appointments, facilitating meetings, as well as accompanying the minister in the day-to-day tasks and projects follow up.

Away from the technical and telecommunication atmosphere, Aedah has a background in fine arts. She has graduated from the school of fine arts, Baghdad, and she is a painter who has arranged and implemented several galleries in the Iraqi capital and other cities.

 

 

 

Ahmed Abdul Redha Allawati

Ahmed Abdul Redha currently works at ITA as the Information Security Officer. He’s graduated from Edith Cowan University (Australia) majoring in Computer Security & Digital Forensics. He holds various specialized certification in the field of information security, such as; GIAC Certified Penetration Tester, ISO27001 Lead Auditor & Implementer, BCI CBCI, etc.

 

                                         

 

Aimen Al Hosni

Aimen Ahmed Sultan Al Hosni was born in 17 of April in 1976. He has been working for the Ministry of Civil Service (MoCS) since 1999. At MoCS, Aimen has been working as Administration Officer from 1999 to 2000. For the period 2000 to 2002, Aimen worked as Director of Planning and Follow-up. From 2002 to 2005, Aimen was the Head of the Minister’s Office and In 2005, Aimen was appointed as the Director General for Administration and Finance, and at the same time, he was Superintendent of Oracle HRMS Project at the Ministry of Civil Service. From 2009 till now, Aimen is working as Director General of Information and Statistics.

 

 

 

Ali Nahle

More than 25 years of experience in the fields of information technology, telecommunications and banking; graduate as a computer engineer from the 'Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers - Paris' .

Currently assumes the following responsibilities:

Senior Executive Director at Banque du Liban, Head of the Information Technology Department at Banque du Liban, Advisor to several ministries of the Lebanese Government, Member of the Parliamentary Committee for Information Technology, Member of the board of management at MIDCLEAR, Former President of the syndicate of Banque du Liban employees.

 

 

 

Bassam Tueini

Bassam was born in 1955, graduated from AUB in 1977 and from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 1980.

Founder of naharnet.com, the leading Lebanese portal that was launched in September 2000 and attracted 3 million unique visitors from more than 200 countries.

He previously worked at The Olayan Group in Athens until 1995, and is now running a company specialised in mobile solutions and content, PowerMe Mobile, that was founded in 2001.

Fadi Mobarak

Fadi, an American University of Beirut Graduate in Electrical Engineering and holder of an MBA degree from Edinburgh Business School, brings with him 20 years of experience in the ICT sector. The multivendor experience, coupled with cross industries exposure and complemented with Sales Management roles across the area, gave him the necessary in depth understanding of the ICT industry, its evolution and where the different industry dynamics are heading. Fadi is a board member of the Lebanese American Chamber of commerce and a regular presenter at events that discuss the socio economic impacts of Technology, and how new trends are creating new business models, thus new job and wealth opportunities.

 

 

 

Fadi Sabbagha

Founder and CEO at Born Interactive, Co-Founder and Director at Travel Systems. Fadi is an entrepreneur and interactive communication specialist with over 16 years of experience in the Internet and digital media industries. He established Born Interactive in 1996, driving it to become one of the leading regional New Media agencies. In 2009, he also co-founded with Nakhal, Lebanon’s leading travel operator, Travel Systems and solutions for the travel industry. Fadi continuously interacts with different cultures and languages. He managed and consulted on several projects across Asia, MENA, Arabian Gulf, Africa, Europe and the US. Projects include Arabic, English and French, which are languages that he speaks, reads and writes fluently. Fadi holds a Master in Management, with Marketing major from SKEMA Business School in France, a Diploma in advanced Design and Development of Interactive Multimedia Products from The Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA) in Association with the National Institute of Audiovisual Media (France) as well as a BS in Economics from Saint Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon.

 

 

 

Fawzi Al Harrassy

Executive Director of Teejan Group and Managing Director of Exceed IT Services & Training- Oman part of the group. A bachelor degree in business with emphasis on information technology .

worked with prestigious positions including petroleum development of Oman PDO and Microsoft as well as held several positions with the government.

Fawzi provides oversight in the operational matters of all business units for Teejan Group. He is responsible for setting and implementing the strategic direction of the entire organization. He provides leadership and direction for Teejan group while maintaining and reinforcing the corporate culture.

Francy Joseph

Francy Joseph has been the CEO of Gerab Systems Technology since four years out of his 13 years of tenure with the same company. He also serves as CEO of Ampconnect which is another Gerab Group of companies. He has been educated in India and Graduated in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Karnatak University in the year of 1985. Imad Hoballah

President, Arab Regulators’ Network (AREGNET), Acting Chairman and CEO and Head of Telecommunications Technologies Unit February at Telecomm-unications Regulatory Authority of Lebanon (TRA), Vice Chairman of Arab Spectrum Management Group (ASMG), Vice President at Arab Infrastructure Regulators Forum (AIRF). Prior to his appointment, Dr. Hoballah was the Chief Executive Officer of Omnix Media Networks. Previously, Dr. Hoballah held a number of executive positions at Lucent Technologies and AT&T Bell Laboratories gaining extensive experience in the field. These include appointments as Executive Sales Director (Africa & Levant), Chief Operating Officer (COO) , Executive Vice President for Services & Program Management, MEA Region. He also held the positions of Services and Software Sales & Product Management, and Information, Operation, & Data Networking Systems Director, Saudi Arabia at Lucent Technologies. Dr. Hoballah was also Senior Manager, Operations Systems, and Operations Systems Architecture Group & Data Services Product Management at, AT&T Bell Laboratories.

 

 

 

Jasim Al Ruzaiqi

Jasim Mohammed Ruzaiqi I worked in the State Council in 2005 in the function of technical networks and include it in my job that got him a job as head of the networks in 2009 and manages this section all kinds of networks and information security In the past year I worked in a project of the Council of Oman( Majlis Oman) to be a consultant in the field of network and information security The project of the Council of Oman, big projects in the Sultanate of Oman.

Born in Beirut on June 24th, 1968, Jean graduated from Mont la Salle College in 1986 Elementary Mathematics Section. In 1992 Jean obtained a BE in Electrical Engineering from the American University of Beirut (AUB). In 1992 Jean started working at the Pan Arab Computer Center as a technical manager. In September 1993 Jean established and managed Teletrade Computer Systems. Currently, Jean is the Chairman-GM of Teletrade Holding Group a company that contains eight local information technology and telecommunication firms under the same umbrella:

Jeffrey Freund

Jeffrey Freund is responsible for iTech’s overall business development and client relations.  His focus remains on long-term strategic planning, revenue generation and financial management.

Jeffrey earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in Michigan, during which time he was chosen to study in the Foreign Exchange program with the University Politechnika in Warszawa, Poland.  Jeffrey has had many travels as an architect after his schooling in Poland, which led him to experience and work with diverse cultures around the world. He has now settled in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

 

 

 

Joseph Haddad

Joseph G. Haddad is a shareholder and general manager of TechnoMania SARL, an IT Solution Provider. Joseph holds a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from the American University of Beirut. Under Joseph’s management, TechnoMania transitioned from a tier-2 IT wholesaler to an authorized direct partner and service center for world renowned brands such as Acer, 3Com, Lenovo, Targus, Netgear, Xerox. TechnoMania was ISO 9001 certified in 2000, launched ACER in Lebanon in 2003, and was awarded key government IT contracts in from 2005 onwards. In 2010, Joseph oversaw the launch of TechnoMania’s Direct Sales Unit targeting the retail and corporate markets.

 

 

 

Majeed Al Maamori

Director General of the State Company for Internet Services (SCIS)/Ministry of communications since 2009, Majeed Al Maamori Graduated from the Electrical Engineering Department in 1980/ University of Technology / Baghdad. Al Maamori has been working in the information and commu-nications technology sector since 1985 and still to this present day.

Member in CIO ( Chief information officer ) of Iraq from 2003. Worked in the Ministry of Construction and Housing  during the time period from 1985 to 2009 in ITC Sector & Construction Sector  in which able to present many internal network system designs and also work in computer maintenance.

Marc Durand

Marc is responsible for technology research and development, implement-tation and project delivery at iTech.

He is a leader in Building Information Model (BIM) implementation with more than eight years’ experience in BIM project delivery. Through his in-depth understanding and immense knowledge of what BIM is, Marc offers high-level strategic planning and overall project management expertise.

Marc is originally from Boulogne Sur Mer, France, where he completed his Masters Degree in Industrial Data Processes at the University of Littoral, Cote d’Opale France.  Marc and his family relocated to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2007.

 

 

 

Midhat Khalik

Medhat Khalil has dedicated his career to realizing a vision: Raya Holding. After 15 years holding top management positions with IBM Egypt, Khalil founded the pioneering IT companies Protech and Oratech in 1993 and 1997 respectively. In 1998, Protech and Oratech became two of the seven entities comprising Raya Holding. Medhat Khalil is a member of the National Sports Council, board member in the National Fund for Finance of Juniors, Youth, Sports.Board member of National Management Institute and lot of high ranked companies.

• Founder of a cereal bars factory (Lyme Regis, UK).

• Founder of ‘1st Call’ company (Brighton, UK) – a software company producing educational programmes, including one used by the British government in anti-drugs campaigning throughout schools in the UK.

- Lebanon:

• Worked in the field of construction in the UK and Lebanon, especially in the establishment of infrastructural works (such as water, electricity, road networks and lighting) in Al-Jiyah, Lebanon.

• Worked in the design and construction of residential buildings also in Al-Jiyah, Lebanon.

Najeeb Al-Ajo

Dr Najeeb Al-Oj-was Deputy of Yemen Gas Company before he has been appointed as Executive Director for Aden Refinery Company since 2 years before.

He has many researches and studies in the field of Gas, Oil, Power, Environment, Technical and Political studies.

Paola Chakhtoura

Paola Chakhtoura studied Law for two years at the Lebanese University (LU) before transferring to the American University of Beirut (AUB) to complete a Bachelor Degree in Psychology with a minor in Public Health, and then started a Masters degree in Public Health. She worked as a research assistant at AUB’s Social and Behavioral Sciences Department, before moving on to the Clemenceau Medical Center, affiliated with Johns Hopkins, where she worked as a Patient Services Coordinator and Service Excellence Trainer. She later joined the American Lebanese Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Lebanon) as its Executive Director where she has been managing the chamber’s programs, projects and events, and coordinating amongst all member companies, and between other organizations, associations and governmental agencies locally and internationally, to fulfill the mission of AmCham Lebanon. In 2010, she was selected as one of 15 young Arab leaders to complete the “Arab American Business Fellowship” Program (AABF) in the United States.

Said Al Manadhari

Said Al-Mandhari is the Deputy General Manager of MDS-Oman, managing more than 85 professionals in the IT & Telecommunication sector. Said has over 11 years of experience in the ICT sector. Prior to working with MDS, Said worked in the Government of Oman and was involved in multiple national projects related to the e-government initiatives. In addition to his current full time job, Said is working as an advisor for The Research Council (TRC) supervising Research and Education Projects such as Oman Research and Education Network (OMREN), Oman Knowledge Identification (Oman-KID), Virtual Science Library, Researchers Databases and Research Submission and Funding Systems. He is also working as member in the Higher Education Technical Colleges Advisory committee to review and enhance IT courses and curriculums.

 

 

 

Salim Al Ruzaiqi

Chief Executive officer of Information Technology Authority

 As CEO of ITA, Dr. Salim is responsible for the implementation of the Digital Oman Strategy.

Throughout his 18-year career in the IT field, Dr. Salim held different technical and managerial roles in the Sultanate of Oman. Dr. Salim joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in March 1987 and led the IT initiatives in the ministry.

Dr. Salim had a diplomatic experience by joining the Sultanate's Diplomatic Corp as the First Secretary at the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Washington DC from 1998 to 2003.

Born in December 1963, Dr. Salim Received Doctorate of Science degree in Information Systems and Communications from Robert Morris University of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Master of Science in Information Systems Technology from George Washington University of Washington DC and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics from Lindenwood University of St.Charles Missouri.

Walid Midani

CEO & Founder - DigitalMania.

A young Entrepreneur graduated in 2008 from ESPRIT - Tunis (Major): IT Engineer specialized in Operating systems & IT Networks. He launched his first company TunisiaGames in 2004 with some classmates. and in 2005 he founded the "Coupe de Tunisie des Jeux Vidéo". He was also a board member of the Electronic Sports World Cup from 2006 to 2009.

After 7 Years in electronic sports event organization he founded DigitalMania the first independent Video Games Studio in Tunisia.

 

 

 

Yasser ElKady

Egyptian Prime Minister appointed Eng. Yasser ElKady as the new CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) on the 27th of October 2010 replacing Dr. Hazem Abdelazim whose term has ended during October 2010. Eng. Yasser will be reporting directly to the Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology.

In September 2009, Yasser ElKady was appointed to the position of First Deputy to the Minister of Investment in Egypt. To support his role for the Ministry, Yasser was also appointed as a board member for the General Authority for Investment (GAFI), the principal government body regulating and facilitating investment in Egypt.

As Managing Director, Elkady leads Cisco’s MEA Strategy and Business Development, coordinating all SP, PS, Enterprise Verticals and Strategic Initiatives in the Middle East and Africa Region. Elkady oversees Cisco’s business units in 60 countries and works directly with Cisco’s Vice President for the emerging markets to ensure the successful implementation and execution of all projects across his territories.

 

 

 

Yousuf Al Harthy

The Founder and Managing Director of InfoShield, the only Information Security Company in Oman.

A Professional with 13 years’ experience in technology related fields and retired holding rank of a Major in the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO).

Zawan Al Akhzami

Eng. Zawan has worked in various engineering and leadership positions since 1993. Over the past 18 years she played key roles in the advancement of information technologies in the Sultanate of Oman. Some of the key projects she led include developing plans to the Omani embassies around the world to deal with the Y2K computer issues. She also played a key role in the Omani nation censes as the operational director for the 2003 national censes. Eng. Zawan was appointed the IT director for Omani State council where she led the development of the technology vision for the State Council.
