In recent years, new technologies have rendered the ICT sector a prime development vector and a medium for creativity and innovation.
Nevertheless, sustainable growth and development of the ICT sector require broad collaboration among the key industry players and supporting legal and regulatory environment.

MENA ICT forum shall be an annual platform bringing together key industry players to discuss the need for a pan-Arab strategy toward sustainable ICT development in the Arab world.

The forum's two-day conference shall discuss the current situation of the Arab ICT industry, highlight the obstacles for growth, and recommend strategy for the future development.

The forum will be highlighted by the launching of the Arab GoldenChip Awards (AGCA) which will recognize top Arab figures who have contributed to the development of ICT in their countries and in the Arab World in the following categories:
• Best Online Application for Banking
• Best Online Application in Government
• Best Online Application in Commerce
• Best Software Product for Export
• Best Hardware Product
• Best Arabic Content Project

The AGC Objective:
Is to promote excellence and innovation in the Arab ICT sector and encourage Arabic digital content and online applications and e-business resulting in increased export of Arab ICT Products to the world.
In concurrence with the Forum, the Union of Arab ICT Associations will hold its General assembly and various committee meetings.
 
THEMES
The Forum will be organized in panel sessions consisting of a variety of regional and international industry experts and keynote speakers.
The Forum themes shall cover the following topics:
• The present Status & future of ICT sector  in the Arab World
• Financing of the ICT sector in the Arab World
• ICT Production in the Arab World and the status of intellectual Property Rights
• Corporate social Responsibilities’ contributions to ICT Development
• Opportunities for the Arab Youth in the ICT Sector – Encouraging Innovation & Creativity
• Benefits of Regional Collaboration among Operators and among Service Provider
