The dedication of all stakeholders from around the world to harness the potential of Information and Communication Technologies for all, was never more apparent than in Tunis. Five days of spectacular displays, cosmopolitan charm and intense partnership making ensured a successful follow up to the ICT for Development Platform held in Geneva 2003.
ICT 4 all Exhibition
The ICT 4 all Exhibition and partnership area takes place from 15 to 19 November 2005 and is part of ICT 4 all, the major parallel event at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in Tunis 2005. The exhibition is open to both accredited participants of the WSIS and to general public concerned with ICT . It aims to enrich the political core of the WSIS by dealing with the people-centred development dimension of Information and Communication Technologies through a lively exhibition and partnership area with interactive workshops.
Open to both accredited WSIS participants and the public, the exhibition offers all sectors from across the world the opportunity to interact and exchange ideas between all sectors and continents.
Goal
The ICT 4 all Exhibition aims to contribute to a more effective worldwide use of ICTs and stimulate action between developing and developed countries through the showcasing and presenting of concrete solutions.
Objective 1: network
To bring multi-stakeholders together to share knowledge, experiences and to encourage partnerships in the field of ICT. To promote the role of the private sector in particular, as stakeholders providing economically viable models for universal access to information and value-added ICT services.
Objective 2: showcase
To showcase solutions and projects from companies, organisations and countries active in the field of ICT. Exhibitors present technologies, products, projects, services, approaches, best practices and innovations.
Objective 3: exchange
To exchange and reflect on state-of-the-art lessons, specific experiences, innovative models and future trends in the area of ICT for all.
Objective 4: action
To stimulate innovative action including concrete multi-stakeholder deals, action-oriented partnerships, joint programmes and financing models.
Stakeholders
The ICT 4 all exhibition and partnership area embodies the true multi-stakeholder spirit, encouraging the development of action-orientated partnerships and collaborations between major stakeholders from governments, the private sector, international organisations and NGO's in the field of ICT from across all continents.
