int@j meets with local media representatives and launches
the 5th ICT forum
Amman, July 2008 - The Information Technology Association of Jordan (int@j) held on Wednesday the 9th of July a press conference to announce the 5th Jordan ICT forum which will be held under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II during the 1st and the 2nd of the coming December, 2008, at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center-Dead Sea. This year’s theme is “Jordan; Your Ideal Business Destination”.
During the meeting, Mr. Marwan Juma, Chairman of int@j, highlighted the importance of this bi-annual international ICT industry event as it attracts an extensive number of international and local stakeholders in the ICT industry to discuss related issues, network, and establish business ties and contracts.
Mr. Juma also discussed the forum’s main objectives that include showcasing Jordan as the ideal business destination, raising awareness on Jordan’s ICT sector through showcasing its strengths, feature prominent experts on subjects that will be addressed, and feature one or more multi-national key-note speaker(s) who attract high caliber attendees from the region and globally. The forum further aspires to present one of Jordan’s most highlighted industry events and provide attendees with a suitable variety of relevant topics that will enrich their knowledge, while supporting the event with a rich cultural / touristic program for spouses of attendees (who will hopefully reach above 100 attendees).
On the other hand Mr. Juma has tackled the main topics that will be discussed during the forum’s sessions which include telecommunications, software development, convergence, human development and legislation which has a big role in supporting the sector’s development process, increasing competitiveness and ensuring lucrative revenues.
It is worth mentioning that the Jordan ICT Forum was held for the first time in 2000. The forum targets different national, regional and international entities and personalities such as C-level decision makers, business and industrial sectors that benefit from Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Local, regional, and international ICT companies, governments, non-governmental organizations, international donor agencies, diplomatic missions, ministers of ICT, local and international universities and academia, ministers of education and higher learning, regional telecom regulators, regional and international ICT business associations, investors and business partners in addition to venture capital and other investment funds.
