Palestinian information and communications technology begins a new era this August 30 with the launch of ExpoTech, the Palestine ICT Exhibition and Conference. Technology pioneers, business leaders and users of high-tech products will converge on the Al Bireh Municipal Exhibition Halls to share knowledge, ideas and solutions at Palestine’s most comprehensive tech event ever. Two floors of exhibition space will showcase the leading companies in Palestine.
Organized jointly by the Palestinian Information and Technology Association of companies (PITA) and the Palestine Trade Center – PalTrade, ExpoTech is an intersection for technology companies and end-users. ExpoTech will provide the chance for tech users and buyers to learn about new products and technologies while giving companies the chance to meet their market and learn more about customer needs and interests.
“ExpoTech is the biggest and best technology event that the Palestinian tech community has organized to date,” declared Tareq Maayah, chairman of PITA. “In just ten years, Palestine has created an information and communications technology industry, made up of more than 100 companies. Some of these companies have already generated strong interest at international exhibitions. Others also have great export potential. At ExpoTech these companies can introduce themselves in the local market and prepare for entry in international markets at the same time.”
ExpoTech will run from August 30 through September 1 in Al-Bireh. ExpoTech’s Platinum Sponsor is BCI, a major provider of telecommunications equipment and services in Palestine, representing Motorola and Polycom. Gold Sponsors are Jawwal, the Network of Palestine and the Palestinian Telecommunications Company PalTel. ExpoTech’s opening ceremony is sponsored by the UNDP. The Islamic Development Bank is a supporting underwriter of ExpoTech.
