Jordan Crowns Best Websites of 2007
Amman, Jordan (Jan 2008) - The Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE) swept the GOLD AWARD (First Place) in The Jordan Web Awards 2007 for the NON-GOV Organizations Category:. This event was organized by MediaScope and supported by: Jordan Computer Society, Microsoft, Ministry of Information and Communication, Intaj, and Business Software Alliance.
The website was launched last August. Unlike the majority of NGOs’ websites, it was developed in-house. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the QRCE team for continuing developing and upgrading the structure and the content. We also want to thank the QRCE sponsors: Orange (Platinum), Jordan Commercial Bank and Jordan Dubai Capital (Silvers), Optimiza (Bronze), Jordan Business (Media Partner).
Jordan Web Awards -member of Pan Arab Web Awards- aims to serve as an inspiration, archive and at the same time reward creators for their skills so that they continue to improve it. It is also to promote the innovative spirit of web designers to meet professional and international standards, to promote intellectual and production opportunities, as well as to develop an interactive proactive and reactive community that aims at providing recognition to this esector in the most superlative way. Furthermore, Jordan Web Awards is an encouragement for all sectors to showcase their websites and be more involved in the IT.
Some Of the websites That competed in the same category are: INJAZ, Intaj, Kolona Masoul, Sawtouna, Tatawor Association, The Young Entrepreneurs Association (YEA), “We are All Jordan” Youth Commission, and Youth without Borders.
QRCE aims to develop technology entrepreneurship in Jordan by focusing on issues such as: capacity building, consulting, counseling and developing the local “Entrepreneurial Personality & Spirit”. Furthermore, the QRCE is running several leading national and international programs, including: Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Competition (QRNEC), CONNECT-Jordan program, Technology Commercialization Program (TCP), and the students entrepreneurship club (DART).
QRCE is an integral part of Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT), the academic arm of El Hassan Science City (EHSC), which includes national pioneer institutions which are the Higher Council for Science and Technology (HCST) and Royal Scientific Society (RSS).
