BITA is a unique training center concept undertaken by Mercy Corps and IJMA3 which provides internationally recognized training programs in Basra, Iraq.

BITA is a unique training center concept undertaken by Mercy Corps and IJMA3 which provides internationally recognized training programs in Basra, Iraq.  Under BITA’s unique implementation strategy, initial training is subsidized by trainees holding training voucher issued by Mercy Corps.  These vouchers are given on a priority basis to internally displaced peoples in the region.  While voucher trainees help to establish the center, the center’s ongoing operations will be entirely self sustaining.  Thus, IJMA3/Mercy Corps assistance has provided critical local training, and has also helped to establish a sustainable, successful local business.
