Success Story - Sadr City 20/9/2010
Bahaa 24 years old is one of the few members in our training program that graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business and Economics. However like most people living in Iraq, he too was having difficulty finding a job. The search for a job proved to be quite challenging for Bahaa, and he began to search for alternative means.
Upon hearing of his dilemma, his relatives directed him to the training center in Sadr City. There were two reasons that allowed Bahaa to sign up for the training courses. First, he decided that gaining extra training would be a good way to stay up to date with new technologies. Second, a training course could maximize his chance of acquiring a job.
We could say that Bahaa found his calling with computers. After passing his examination at the end of his training and getting certified, Bahaa realized that what he has learned was important yet it did not quench his thirst for information on computers, and so he was determined to learn more. Bahaa joined the advanced classes at the center and he was one of the best trainees at the center and he finally achieved the advanced training certificate.
The search for employment was not over. After searching for sometime Bahaa found that "Save the Children" is recruiting researchers with good IT knowledge for a project in coordination with "UNICEF", and so he applied. "I decided to try but I wasn't sure they will hire me, I didn’t think they would hire a beginner" Bahaa said, and added "I submitted my CV and they interviewed me. I was surprised when they called me to attend training and start working for them. Maybe I was lucky or maybe I impressed them but I learned to trust myself".
