Iraqis have Access to Public Services

The Arab ICT Organization (IJMA3) is proud to announce the launching of a new portal. IJMA3 has been working on the design and development of this portal that will enable fifteen districts and their communities in Baghdad governorate in addition to Baquba district in Diyala governorate to share and access relevant content, and improve the provision of citizen services in coordination with the International City/County Management Association – ICMA.

Iraqis using this portal now have access to public services and in doing so they are brought closer to the decisions that the government is making. They are making an informed decision to vote for the government that is offering them the best quality services. Civilians can now encompass the magnitude of the electoral system, because their votes now affect the benefits that they will be receiving from the public system.

Currently, the sixteen districts (Abu Gharaib, Al-Istiqlal, Al-Mada'n, Mahmodiya, Taji, Al-Tarmiya, Adhamiya, Karkh, Karada, Kadhmiya, Mansour, Sadr City, Al-Rashid, Rusafa, 9 Nissan and Baquba) have now their own presence online in Arabic language under the web portal: http://www.baghbaqdcs.org.  The English version will be online soon.

IJMA3 has organized the Webmaster training for districts’ members which aimed to train webmasters in-charge of managing the web portal. The training was successfully held at ICMA training center in Baghdad from September 21 to September 25 for the sixteen districts. At the end of the training, certificates were distributed to participants in the festive atmosphere and the participants expressed their happiness and optimism in this great program and their willingness to fully manage the project the best possible way.
