The Qtel Group, the leading telecom service provider in Qatar, will display its innovations in social networking, mobile money, and entertainment, as well as new services at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona.
Organized by the GSMA Association, the Mobile World Congress, running from February 14 to 17, will bring together 1,300 companies and 47,000 mobile professionals from 182 countries.
“By 2015, more than one billion people will access the Internet through mobile phones, transforming the mobile industry altogether,” said Dr Nasser Marafih, Group CEO, Qtel.
“The Qtel Group aims to be at the forefront of this change process, taking a proactive approach to partnership in order to deliver the next generation services that our customers expect. We are delighted to be participating at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to showcase some of the results of our ambitious strategy for customer-focused innovation," he added.
“Driven by the increased capacity offered by improved Broadband technology and by the growing hunger from customers, particularly younger consumers, the market is undergoing a transformation. We believe that the Qtel Group, given its market positioning and our ongoing investment in innovation, is ideally placed to capitalise on these changes,” Dr Nasser concluded.
