National Mobile Programming Contest Officially Launched

On February 21, H.E. Minister of Telecommunication Nicolas Sehnaoui officially launched in a press conference at the Ministry, the second edition of the National Mobile Programming Contest for university students and announced the winners of the ‘Be the Minister” game, along with a blogging contest for Lebanese bloggers.

On February 21, H.E. Minister of Telecommunication Nicolas Sehnaoui officially launched in a press conference at the Ministry, the second edition of the National Mobile Programming Contest for university students and announced the winners of the ‘Be the Minister” game, along with a blogging contest for Lebanese bloggers.

The National Mobile Programming Contest is a contest in mobile applications development targeting university students. The best 25 selected projects will be able to be developed in order to select the winners. Berytech, as a partner in the contest, will award an incubation program to 2 winning teams, helping them develop their projects to startup companies. You can learn more about the contest here.
 
In the framework of launching the contest, the President of the engineering department at the University of Balamand, Father Dr. Antoine Melki, the Dean of the faculty of sciences, Dr. Jihad Attieh, the director of marketing at Touch, Joseph Gibran, and the director of the cell phones department in Samsung, Alain Barakeh, were featured speakers during the event.
 
“Lebanon is capable and is qualified to become a leading country in the digital industry in the region. Lebanese people are innovative, which allows them to be the leaders and managers of the most important international companies”, noted the minister. After launching the NMPC, he announced another competition for young Lebanese bloggers about writing a blog regarding a creative innovation that can change the world. The winner will have the opportunity to go to Silicon Valley in the United States of America with the minister himself. In the end, H.E. Minister Sehnaoui announced the big winner of “Be the Minister” game, Mohamad Chahrour, to become the Minister of Telecommunication for one day, along with 200 winners who will get a free 4G line for 2 months for testing.
