Mogadishu-based Hormuud Telecom (HorTel) has reportedly inaugurated commercial third-generation services, local news source Mareeg.com reports, citing Abdi Hakin, head of sales at the mobile network operator.
As noted in TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, HorTel is Somalia’s largest mobile network operator, claiming an estimated 921,000 subscribers at the end of September 2012, equivalent to more than 41% of the market.
