The move is aimed at building a knowledgeable society and to provide educational facilities by Smart Communications solutions.
The agreement was signed by Engr. Abdulaziz Al Saghyir, Chairman of Mobily's Board, and Dr. Huda Al-Ameel Director of the university at the university headquarters in Riyadh, with the attendance of Dr. Marwan Al Ahmadi, Mobily Chief Business Officer.
To ensure the continuity of the service, Mobily will provide the university with the internet service as per the latest technologies along with alternative plans to keep the university always in permanent connection with the high speed internet network, as such service represents high priority to the university to implement many educational operations and projects.
Engr. Al Saghyir said: "We are always seeking to dedicate our technical capabilities in serving the educational sector in the Kingdom; Mobily had already signed long term contracts with many universities around the Kingdom, as this sector represents top priority for us".
He added that "knowledgeable community and enriching the educational process by the latest technologies is becoming a necessity to extract the information and swiftly convey it to students. The educational sector is witnessing a significant recovery within the previous years due to the generous spending by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and enriching this sector has become one of the top priorities for all of us."
Mobily has provided many universities around the Kingdom with the advanced internet services. Among them are Taibah University in Medina, King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, King Khalid University in Abha, University of Dammam, King Faisal University in Al Hasa, Islamic University of Medina in addition King Abdullah University for Science and Technology in a step to enhance the competency of the big educational projects in the Kingdom.
